What’s the best decking material: wood or composite?
The best material depends on your budget, maintenance preferences, and aesthetic goals:
- Wood (Cedar, Pressure-Treated, or Hardwood): More affordable upfront, natural beauty, but requires regular sealing/staining.
- Composite (Trex, TimberTech, etc.): Higher initial cost but low maintenance, longer lifespan, and resistant to rot, mold, and fading.
If you want a long-term, hassle-free solution, composite is ideal. If you prefer a natural look and are comfortable with maintenance, wood is a great option.
