“We first met Norm and the Rafter gang about 6 years ago. We hired Rafter4K to build a horse riding ring on our small hobby farm. The project was challenging because of problems with a high water table. Norm however offered creative solutions allowing the project to move forward and we successfully built the ring, which has held up well over the past years.

Two years ago we made a decision to extensively renovate our little old farm house and once again we called Rafter4K. Norm willingly took on our project even as complicated as it was. He was very easy to conduct business with and displayed a large willingness to cooperatively move forward with us. I was amazed at how many of his same crew members that I had met a few years earlier showed up for our new project. Remarkable, considering how often people move around in the construction industry. No job seemed too big for Norm and the Rafter4K crew, they have an amazingly skilled crew that are able to tackle so many aspects of construction from excavation to fine finishing carpentry. The crew came to the job site everyday and politely interacted with us, they were respectful and cheery and made sure the job site was tidied up before leaving each day.

It always cheered me up to ask Ky, how are you today, and hear “Fantastic!” How is that possible on this wet, rainy, cold January day?

I must comment on how Norm showed up always willing to find solutions if any problems confronted us. He often came up with many viable options. We love our new home and will forever be grateful to Rafter4K for all their amazing work. A special thanks to Devon for overseeing this project as if it were his own. “What I like most about Norm is his approach. Many contractors will tell you what they think but few will take the time to really listen to your ideas. Norm has that ability to listen to what you have to say and then give you alternative points of view. All without making you feel silly or small. The result is that you come up with the best answer and, for us, the results speak for themselves.

I first met Norm in January 2009. We had just purchased a new home with a large, private back yard that our special needs daughter could enjoy. As a business owner, I have purchased thousand of items and worked with hundreds of vendors over the years so I like to think I know what to look for in a vendor. But this project was different enough that it made us very wary. I guess I watched too much Holmes on Homes. Norm spent many hours with us making sure that he understood our unique needs and requirements before ever putting a proposal together for us. This made both of us feel more and more comfortable as we moved through the process. We never felt rushed or pushed. We just felt that Norm was helping us try to figure out what would work for us and fit our budget.

Norm’s crew was also excellent. They were always courteous and always cleaned up after themselves. On a project this size, there are always things that go wrong but Norm has always taken responsibility and fixed the problem. We have just finished our second summer enjoying our yard and are looking forward to many more.”
